About the position

The UX Designer role at Palo Alto Networks involves crafting practical, useful, and visually appealing design-centric products for the Xpanse security platform. The designer will collaborate with various teams to enhance user experiences and contribute to the ongoing development of the Cortex Design System, ensuring that complex systems are simplified for users.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize solutions to complex design problems by exploring different angles and communicating ideas effectively.
  • Create impactful product experiences through compelling visuals and prototypes.
  • Help improve and expand the ongoing Cortex Design System.
  • Apply UI and UX design techniques including user flows, visual design, wireframes, mockup specifications, and prototypes.
  • Deliver detailed solutions for visualizations, reports, and other customer-facing collateral.
  • Collaborate with peer designers, engineering teams, and product managers to guide the evolution of product experiences.
  • Bring a pragmatic approach to design that balances customer needs with the time and effort required to create solutions.
  • Stay updated on current design trends and technologies to improve as a designer.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience delivering UX/Product design for large scale web applications.
  • Knowledge of Figma and experience in extending and maintaining design systems.
  • Strong visual design skills with an excellent eye for detail.
  • Understanding of user experience frameworks such as Jobs to be Done, personas, use cases, mood boards, happy paths, and journey maps.
  • Experience in enterprise SaaS product experiences, particularly in security or networking is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to resolve ambiguity through collaboration and a proactive approach to finding answers.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
  • Self-managing and self-correcting with a passion for continuous learning.
