About the position

As a UX Designer at Horizontal Talent, you will play a crucial role in developing visual designs and user interfaces for native mobile experiences. Your work will be guided by user research and business requirements, ensuring that the designs not only meet user needs but also align with the company's branding and platform standards. You will be responsible for extending visual design systems and patterns into native mobile applications, which includes creating layouts, grids, photography, iconography, and various UI elements. Your ability to articulate UX concepts clearly will be essential as you communicate effectively with internal leaders and partners. You will connect your UX recommendations to a larger global strategy, leveraging design thinking to achieve business outcomes. Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work closely with design research teams to uncover and incorporate user needs into design requirements. Additionally, you will partner with project managers and business analysts to adhere to project timelines and deliver design outputs. Supporting developer hand-offs will also be part of your responsibilities, which includes performing design quality assurance to ensure that the final product aligns with your designs. Your expertise in Figma will be vital, as you will utilize its components, shared libraries, auto-layout, and prototyping features to create effective designs. Your understanding of native mobile design requirements for both iOS and Android platforms, as well as your knowledge of healthcare design and HIPAA regulations, will further enhance your contributions to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop visual designs and user interfaces for native mobile experiences based on user research and business requirements.
  • Incorporate Client branding and platform standards into UX design.
  • Extend visual design systems and patterns into native mobile, including layouts, grids, photography, iconography, UI elements, and others.
  • Articulate UX concepts clearly, communicating effectively with internal leaders and partners.
  • Connect UX recommendations to larger global strategy, leveraging design thinking towards business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with design research in uncovering and incorporating user needs into design requirements.
  • Work with project managers and business analysts to follow project timelines and provide design deliverables.
  • Support developer hand-offs, including performing design QA.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in design, graphic design, visual communications, industrial design or design strategy.
  • Minimum 2 years of design work experience in visual design for mobile products within brand guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of Figma including components, shared libraries, auto-layout, and prototyping.
  • Experience with native mobile design requirements for both iOS and Android.
  • Knowledge of healthcare design, for both patients and clinicians.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient data privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG and ADA, for mobile devices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing for behavior change.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and information architecture.
  • Experience with Bluetooth technology.
