About the position

This automotive company is seeking an experienced and talented UX designer to create experiences that solve both business and customer problems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the UX team, product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to understand customer needs and explore solutions at both the conceptual and detailed design levels. Your work will involve forming a cohesive experience across various touchpoints, including apps, websites, and the in-vehicle experience, ensuring that all interactions are seamless and user-friendly. You will be responsible for creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively convey proposed experiences. Mapping out comprehensive user flows will be essential to visualize potential pathways for users, allowing for a better understanding of their journey. Following direction from the UX Lead and leadership team, you will leverage research and data to understand user needs and make evidence-based decisions that inform your design strategy for products and programs. Conducting experience audits and structuring the information architecture will be part of your responsibilities, as will generating competitive and analogous experience analyses to inform your design decisions. You will help determine experience improvement prioritization and form and evolve personas, aligning experiences with their needs and context. Additionally, you will conduct sprint reviews and User Acceptance Testing, partnering with development teams to ensure that what is delivered aligns with what was designed. Using frameworks such as Jobs-to-be-Done, you will uncover deeper needs and opportunities, designing at both the conceptual and detailed levels while delivering high-quality work on time. Presenting your work at design reviews, sprint reviews, and business reviews will be crucial, as will advocating for the customer and encouraging empathy from stakeholders throughout the design process.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in UX design, particularly in mobile and web applications.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive industry and in-vehicle infotainment systems.
  • Experience with design strategy and agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Jira for project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or graduate degree.
  • Skills in specific design disciplines, including UI/visual design, content design, and conversational design.
