About the position

As a Product Designer at Stride, Inc., you will be responsible for creating exceptional user experiences for a suite of applications aimed at students, parents, learning coaches, and teachers. This role involves collaborating with designers, product management, and developers to deliver customer-centric solutions, working autonomously to meet design deliverables, and contributing to the overall design process from ideation to execution.

Responsibilities

  • Create elegant and intuitive user experiences by incorporating user insights, business requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Quickly and iteratively create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for mobile and web interfaces.
  • Develop UX solutions for complex problems and adapt approaches to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Conduct user testing and present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Contribute to user experience design guidelines and the design system, developing best practices for the Stride Design Center of Excellence.
  • Collaborate with product engineers to suggest improvements for products and processes.
  • Help build out design processes, tools, and culture within the team.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in web application product design.
  • An online portfolio showcasing a range of successful user-centered designs and detailed wireframes or prototypes.
  • Experience creating software design solutions and scalable dynamic user interfaces.
  • Experience facilitating collaboration with developers and product managers.
  • Proficiency with contemporary design tools including Sketch, Invision, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience planning and executing effective user research such as surveys, interviews, and usability studies.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design and design patterns.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human-computer interactions, product design, or a related field.
  • Strong visual design skills.
  • Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG 2.1).
  • Experience in gaming platform design or similar subjects.
  • HTML and CSS coding experience.
  • Knowledge of common UI frameworks like React Native/Web.
