About the position

Kforce has a client seeking a UX Designer in Smithfield, RI. The UX Designer will play a pivotal role in defining design work and delivering business outcomes across multiple product teams with minimal guidance and coaching. This position requires collaboration with product owners to inform product strategy and with developers to collaboratively solve problems. The UX Designer will work across the organization to drive consistent customer experiences and contribute to the culture of the UXD group. Additionally, the role involves coaching and mentoring junior designers and providing design and product thought leadership. As a UX Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design process, ensuring that user experiences are not only functional but also engaging and aligned with business goals. You will utilize your design skills across various channels, including web and native applications, and will be expected to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to distill qualitative and quantitative feedback will be crucial in promoting data-driven design decisions, and your curiosity will drive you to continually ask why and seek improvements in design practices. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about design and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Lead definition of the design work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams with minimal guidance and coaching.
  • Partner with the product owner to help inform product strategy.
  • Collaborate with developers to solve problems.
  • Drive consistent customer experiences across the organization.
  • Contribute to the culture of the UXD group.
  • Coach and mentor junior designers across the group.
  • Provide design and product thought leadership.

Requirements

  • A digital portfolio that can be reviewed online is required.
  • An array of design skills, including visual, conversational, information architecture, prototyping, and strategic design methods such as design thinking and user research.
  • Ability to design across all channels including web and native applications.
  • Effective communication skills as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; comfortable speaking with developer partners or executives.
  • A foundation of development knowledge, both web and mobile.
  • Familiarity with the value of design systems and understanding when to contribute to make them better.
  • Experience partnering with user research to understand customer problems.
  • Ability to distill qualitative and quantitative feedback to promote data-driven design decisions.
  • An unwavering curiosity to ask why and a passion for design.

Nice-to-haves

  • A degree in a related field such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Human Factors is preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of UX or related experience is preferred.
  • Experience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products is preferred.
  • Experience running and/or using research to support evidence-focused design decisions is preferred.
