About the position

The UX Director for Ad Products & Creative Experience at Amazon.com Services LLC is a senior leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end ad experiences across various platforms. This position involves leading a high-performing team of UX professionals and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences through innovative ad placements and formats. The director will influence long-term strategy and ensure that advertising products are relevant and delightful for users, while also advocating for customer needs and fostering a culture of inclusion and creativity within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for customers by providing strategic design leadership that aligns design, content, business, and technology needs.
  • Raise the bar on design quality and oversee the end-to-end design process and deliverables.
  • Focus on overarching portfolio strategy, negotiate priorities, and drive solutions with product and tech directors.
  • Facilitate alignment on customer problems and product vision within the design team.
  • Create scalable systems for design work federation and manage ambiguity in understanding customer needs.
  • Ensure experiences are simple, clear, and compelling while staying updated on new technologies and UX trends.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with global partners and prioritize based on customer needs.
  • Invest in the development and growth of a diverse team of design leaders and create a culture of inclusion.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, product designer, or similar role.
  • An online portfolio demonstrating user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven experience with rapid, iterative design and development processes.
  • Experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.
  • Fluency in best practices for multimodal experiences and strong knowledge of usability principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience with advertising products and technology.
