About the position

The UX Front End Developer role is a long-term contract position focused on leading the development of a new Design System MVP. This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates located in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves architecting a scalable system to enhance the digital product experience for various user types, including personal and business users. The developer will work within a collaborative team environment that emphasizes Design Thinking, utilizing creativity and technical skills to deliver high-quality digital products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Design System MVP.
• Architect a scalable system for digital product experience transformation.
• Collaborate with UX leaders, product leads, designers, researchers, and engineers.
• Utilize creativity and analytical skills to enable efficient product execution.
• Write intuitive documentation of functional code and processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of coding experience in front-end development for scaled Design Systems.
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UX/presentation layers.
• Experience with progressive JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React, Angular, etc.).
• Familiarity with CSS pre-processing frameworks (Sass or Less).
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.
• Vast experience in developing Design Tokens and using Figma for prototypes.
• Advanced knowledge of Figma and Figma Plugins.
• Practical knowledge of version-controlled UI frameworks.
• Understanding of accessibility standards, particularly WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Ability to prioritize user experience in coding.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
• Knowledge of other design tools and methodologies.
