About the position

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation. We are looking for a UX Product Design Professional to join our team of UX Product Designers in developing intuitive web applications through collaboration with developers, product owners, and business partners. This role requires a pragmatic designer with a user-centered, data-informed approach, along with the ability to drive effective design solutions with guidance. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of design methodologies, enterprise software, and sophisticated user experiences! Note: Applications without portfolios will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the end-to-end design process, ensuring timely, detailed, and polished results.
  • Define use cases and Product Design requirements; create interaction flows, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and design specifications.
  • Provide interactive prototype experiences that efficiently communicate ideas, workflows, and component functionality to partners.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure that design and implementation align with business objectives and identified UX solutions, while also identifying future improvement opportunities.
  • Provide design guidance for applications, considering dependencies and integration across the enterprise.
  • Seek peer reviews to establish and uphold design standards.
  • Demo designs and concepts to multi-functional partners throughout the organization.
  • Contribute to continual refinement of the Design System.
  • Foster collaboration to drive value, identify, and resolve impediments.
  • Lead multiple projects under guided supervision.
  • Advocate for UX Product Design practices by empathizing with and understanding user needs.

Requirements

  • 2-4+ years of experience, a degree in UX Design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Justinmind, Figma, or other interactive/rapid prototyping tools.
  • Knowledge of Angular, React, HTML, CSS, Agile Methodologies in Jira, and product design processes.
  • Experience collaborating with developers.
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles and experience with rapid prototyping.
  • Collaborative skills for cross-team work with various teams and fields.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively to customers.
  • Experience in structuring and implementing design initiatives at scale.
  • Skills in creating, evaluating, and modifying prototypes for software application development.
  • Proficient in developing and applying software design/usability processes.
  • Capable of providing usability evaluation and support to product development teams.
  • Ability to articulate user needs and design solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
