About the position

As a UX Researcher II at Amazon Development Center, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the software builder experience by conducting various user research methodologies. Your work will involve leading research projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and presenting insights to stakeholders, all aimed at improving tools and processes for software builders at Amazon.

Responsibilities

  • Independently lead UX research projects focusing on the software builder experience.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of study design, including recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, and communicating research initiatives.
  • Work from high-level requirements and ask the right questions to gather relevant information to guide research approach.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including senior leadership, engineers, product managers, UX designers, and other researchers.
  • Present insights across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Stay current on emerging research, industry, and technology trends.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience conducting user research or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with experimental design, ethnographic techniques, contextual inquiry, survey methodologies, and related methodologies with demonstrated results.
  • BS in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, BA in Anthropology, Sociology or similar.
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology or a related field.
  • Experience with researching developer tools.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates past work experience and deliverables.
