About the position

As a UX Researcher III at Pinnacle Technical Resources, you will play a crucial role in the New Product Experience (NPE) team, where your research expertise will directly influence the development of innovative products. This position offers the unique opportunity to work within a tightly integrated pod, allowing for significant autonomy in your research endeavors. Your primary focus will be on conducting formative research to uncover latent needs and problems that can be addressed through product solutions. You will also engage in iterative design research to refine early product concepts into testable prototypes, and evaluative research to enhance products before they are launched into the market. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a diverse team of researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to define and deliver meaningful products. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive research roadmaps, leading various studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle. Your contributions will extend to shaping product strategy and execution, as well as managing research vendors to support the research team’s efforts. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a customer service mindset. You will need to demonstrate a strong capacity for independent work and time management, as well as experience in data analysis to support your research hypotheses. Storytelling skills will be essential for effectively communicating your findings to various stakeholders. This role is 100% onsite in New York City, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and direct engagement with your team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify, define and deliver meaningful products into the world.
  • Develop and execute research roadmaps collaboratively and independently.
  • Lead various research studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle.
  • Contribute to product strategy, execution, and go-to-market plans.
  • Manage research vendors to augment the work of the research team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a human behavior related field such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in UX research or related fields.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Experience with data analysis and utilizing metrics to support hypotheses.
  • Experience in storytelling to engage various audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with wearables technology.
  • Background in communications, presence, streaming, gaming/entertainment, or systems.
  • Experience in consumer software.
