About the position

As a UX Researcher in Reality Labs, you will have the opportunity to partner with a diverse set of stakeholders in ideating, building, and launching brand new products. Research is paramount to the success of this organization, and your role will involve conducting formative research to identify the right underserved needs or problems in the world that can be addressed with product solutions. You will also engage in iterative design research to mold early product ideas into testable prototypes, and evaluative research to improve and fine-tune those products for market readiness. In this position, you will collaborate closely with researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to identify, define, and deliver meaningful products. You will be responsible for developing and executing research roadmaps, leading various research studies throughout all phases of the product development cycle, and contributing to product strategy and execution. Your work will be critical in ensuring that the products developed meet the needs of users and are positioned effectively in the market. The role requires strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills. You will need to work independently and manage your time effectively while conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis to inform product and design decisions. Storytelling skills will be essential to gain traction with various audiences, and you will need to demonstrate autonomy and decision-making capabilities to balance competing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, PMs & engineers to identify, define and deliver meaningful products into the world.
  • Collaboratively develop and execute research roadmaps.
  • Lead various research studies throughout all the phases of the product development cycle.
  • Contribute to product strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in a human behavior related field, such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in UX research or related fields.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis to inform product and design decisions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with wearables would be a bonus.
  • Familiarity with communications, presence, streaming, gaming/entertainment, and systems, particularly in software.
