About the position
The UX/UI Designer for the WWPS FedCiv team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for leading the design of modern applications for U.S. Federal agencies. This role involves collaborating with UX peers, conducting user research, and creating high-quality digital products that meet customer needs and business goals. The designer will utilize their expertise in user experience to transform customer insights into compelling product features, ensuring a premium user experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead Inception Workshop to complete digital product design, including product vision, user profiling, user journey analysis, and user research.
- Present design work to customer executive leadership using visuals, writing, and verbal communications.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and visual design specifications for mobile-first web experiences.
- Contribute to user experience design guidelines and documentation of best practices and standards.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a user experience designer, product designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
- 4+ years of experience designing complex enterprise software applications, encompassing the full UX process from requirements gathering to creating development-ready high-fidelity wireframes.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Secret or above.
- Experience with several design approaches, methods, and tools to plan and estimate project work.
- Strong visual design skills to complement UX skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies.
- Experience planning and executing effective customer research, solo or in partnership with a UX Researcher.
- Exceptional problem-solving and design instincts to translate user and business needs into design solutions.
