About the position

The UX/UI Front End Designer will play a crucial role in designing responsive and accessible web applications for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). This position requires collaboration with project managers, business users, and technical architects to create prototypes, develop style sheets, and provide necessary components for application developers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, experience in creating wireframes and user flows, and proficiency in relevant design tools and programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Design responsive and accessible modern web applications under the guidance of project managers and technical architects.
  • Create prototypes and develop style sheets for application developers.
  • Communicate design concepts through wireframes, user flows, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, and product managers.
  • Conduct heuristic evaluations and expert reviews to identify usability issues.
  • Adapt to changing project requirements within an agile development process.
  • Articulate design concepts and rationale through excellent communication and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of UX/UI design experience.
  • Experience in UX/UI design of web applications.
  • Proficiency in Figma and related UX mockup and prototyping software.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with MUI (3 years preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Sketch (3 years preferred).
