About the position

As a UX/UI Specialist I at American National, you will leverage your passion for user experience and your educational background in a UX-related field to create exceptional user experiences that align with the overall design vision of the organization. This role is situated in a supportive in-office environment located in Springfield, MO; League City, TX, or Galveston, TX. You will work closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to gain a deep understanding of user needs, pain points, and goals, ensuring that the products developed are user-centric and effective. In this position, you will conduct user research and usability testing, gathering insights that will inform product design decisions. You will utilize various qualitative and quantitative research methods, including competitive analysis, to create user personas and user/client journey maps. Additionally, you will conduct surveys, interviews, A/B testing, and lead workshops to gather comprehensive user feedback. Your role will also involve creating wireframes and mock-ups to visualize the product's layout, navigation, and interactions, ensuring that the design is intuitive and accessible to a diverse audience. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work alongside the Product Manager, Product Owner, and developers to iterate on design concepts based on feedback. You will advocate for usability best practices and accessibility standards, ensuring that the products not only meet user needs but also adhere to industry standards for usability and accessibility. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to understand user needs, pain points, and goals.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather insights to inform product design decisions utilizing various qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a UX-related field.
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant work.
  • Internships or 1-2 years of work experience within UX/UI.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment and adjust course as needed.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and interactive tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc.
