About the position

Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a UX/Visual Designer for a 6-month contract hybrid remote position located in Mountain View, CA. This role is designed for a creative individual who can contribute to the aesthetic and functional aspects of product design. The UX/Visual Designer will be responsible for making design decisions that enhance the overall appeal of products, ensuring that they align with current aesthetic trends and brand styling. The position requires a strong craftsmanship ability, allowing the designer to assess and question the execution, longevity, and scalability of designs. In addition to aesthetic sensibility, the designer will need to prepare effective presentations that communicate design concepts clearly to various audiences. This role involves collaboration with geographically distributed teams, necessitating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships. Familiarity with user research methods and experience working closely with researchers will be beneficial, as will an understanding of cloud computing and data center technologies. The designer should also have a keen interest in data visualization and a solid grasp of product design principles and user-centric processes. Candidates should note that this position is not accepting applicants who have primarily worked on B2B, tools design, desktop design, or internal tools creation. Only those who are available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Make design decisions that increase the overall appeal of a product based on relevant aesthetic trends and appropriate application and product brand styling.
  • Assess and question the execution, craft, longevity, and scale of designs to ensure a cohesive product experience.
  • Prepare effective presentations in content and function, and communicate competently to the level of the audience.

Requirements

  • Web standards development or prototyping skills (Figma, Principle or Protopie).
  • Experience building good, collaborative relationships across geographically distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with user research methods or experience working closely with researchers.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing or data center technologies.
  • Familiarity with software development.
  • Interest and expertise in data visualization.
  • Knowledge of product design principles and user-centric processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity and experience working in the Ads space.
  • Experience with writing content for additional modes of communication such as direct mail, phone scripts, and user guides.
  • Expert command of writing benefit-oriented, consumer-focused copy.
  • A strong understanding of user experience principles and email marketing.
  • Ability to work globally and cross-functionally in an ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent project management and self-starter skills, with the ability to work independently and on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, oral and written communication, project management, and analytical skills.
