About the position

The UX Web Developer position at Robert Half is a 3-month contract role based in Houston, Texas, with the potential for permanent employment. The role focuses on collaborating with IT teams and other departments to design and develop user experiences and application interfaces, ensuring that the university's CMS system is effectively administered and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to design and develop user experiences and application interfaces
  • Administer and support the university's CASCADE CMS system
  • Analyze and modify programs to enhance operating efficiency and adapt to new requirements
  • Oversee API, database, and other systems used for web development, ensuring their continuous updating and maintenance
  • Prepare comprehensive workflow charts to depict the sequence of steps and convert project specifications and problem statements into website, mobile application, and other application interface modifications
  • Design and create interfaces using HTML, Pre-built components, PHP, or any other solution set to support internet, intranet, and mobile platforms
  • Use design tools and content development tools to create interactive/fillable forms and graphic designs such as logos, brochures, posters, and banners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a User Experience (UX) Designer role or similar
  • Experience within education/government sector is preferred
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud is required
  • Strong knowledge of CSS, including Cascade Styling Sheets
  • Experience with CMS Platforms and Content Management Systems - CASCADE IS A MUST
  • Background in Web Development is essential
  • Demonstrated ability in user experience management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively
  • Proven track record of creating intuitive and engaging user experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with current UX trends and technologies.
