About the position

As a UX Writer and Content Designer at Google Ads, you will advocate for Google design by creating meaningful text that enhances product experiences. Your role involves shaping product narratives across various platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and using data-driven insights to inform content strategies. You will also mentor junior writers and manage complex projects, ensuring cohesive language and a unified voice throughout the user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create UI text that facilitates user navigation, onboarding, promotions, error messages, and instructional materials.
  • Drive the vision for product language and content across a product domain, ensuring cohesive narratives.
  • Document strategies with guidelines and establish best practices and principles.
  • Manage projects from needs assessment to implementation, identifying opportunities and securing resources.
  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, legal, marketing, product managers, and engineers to influence and adapt to feedback.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior UX writers and educate cross-functional partners on UX writing and content strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in writing, editorial, marketing, UX writing, content design, or related fields, including leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience in UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • 2 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
  • 2 years of experience in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices.
  • Knowledge of online technology and related products, including web and mobile UI and tools.
  • Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices.
