About the position

The Data Scientist position at Air Liquide involves working within the Innovation and Development Division to drive innovation strategies and develop solutions that enhance operational performance across various business lines. The role focuses on utilizing machine learning and data analysis to address challenges in customer experience, supply chain management, and strategic planning, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business and operations teams to define needs and challenges.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and develop solutions.
• Work with Digital & IT teams to obtain and analyze online/offline data.
• Clean and analyze data to derive insights.
• Develop machine learning solutions using methods such as clustering, regression, classification, and deep learning.
• Test and verify the performance of solutions with prototypes developed in Python or similar environments.
• Support the development and deployment of industrial tools in business units.
• Ensure knowledge sharing to maintain sustainability of solutions.
• Publish research in internal reports, conferences, and peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
• Strong background and experience in statistics and machine learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Ability to write production-level, modular code.
• Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral).
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and international team.
• Willingness to work in an agile development and problem-solving environment.
• Team player and autonomous.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in AWS, Azure, and SQL.
• Experience in project management, leading a project.
