About the position

The VMware Customer Success Manager plays a pivotal role in the acquisition, retention, and growth of SHI's VMware business. This position requires a proactive approach to building and maintaining strong relationships with both VMware sellers and leaders, as well as with top customers within the assigned coverage area. The Customer Success Manager will engage with select customers on a monthly basis, focusing on various aspects of their VMware environment. This includes optimizing their VMware investments, managing the lifecycle of VMware Enterprise Licensing Agreements, and ensuring a positive customer experience with SHI. In this role, the Customer Success Manager will work closely with SHI sales teams to review VMware Roadmaps with stakeholders within customer organizations. They will also partner with the VMware organization to co-sell effectively across a targeted list of customers. Continuous learning and development on new product technology offerings, VMware-specific offerings, and SHI VMware service offerings are essential components of this position. Additionally, the Customer Success Manager will assist in training SHI Enterprise Sales on VMware products and programs, highlighting how customers can benefit from these core products. This position is based in the SHI Austin, TX office, as determined by SHI management, and requires a commitment to fostering a positive customer experience while driving business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the customer experience through monthly meetings around products, licensing, and renewals.
  • Executing against vital performance indicators, including customer retention, growth of customers' business, acquisition of new VMware customers, and selling VMware services.
  • Working with SHI sales to ensure they review VMware Roadmaps with stakeholders within the customer.
  • Partnering with the VMware organization to co-sell effectively across a targeted list of customers.
  • Continuous learning and development on new product technology offerings, VMware-specific offerings and programs, and SHI VMware service offerings.
  • Assisting in training SHI Enterprise Sales on VMware products & programs and how customers can benefit from their core products.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience required
  • 2+ years of experience working with VMware products required
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Superior organizational skills and project/time management abilities
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • Strong process orientation and mindset
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify and explain complex problems to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions
  • Ability to navigate and manage C-Suite relationships within a B2B sales environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Account Executives, Account Managers, and sales teams
  • Deep understanding of VMware products, licensing, services, and renewal strategies
