About the position

The VaaS Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining unified communication systems that integrate voice, video, and messaging services. This position is crucial for optimizing the VaaS network infrastructure to ensure a seamless user experience and monitoring system performance. The engineer will collaborate with IT professionals to enhance the company's communication infrastructure and troubleshoot technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement unified communication and Voice as a Service systems that integrate messaging, voice, video, and collaboration tools.
  • Configure, implement, and troubleshoot unified communication infrastructure, including servers, gateways, routers, and switches.
  • Ensure unified communication systems meet performance, availability, and security requirements through monitoring and testing.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to deliver integrated solutions and enhance end-user experience.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures, installation guides, and training materials.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices related to unified communication and VoIP.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of VaaS solutions.
  • Create technical documentation for infrastructure solutions.
  • Identify network system issues and provide solutions.
  • Perform complex problem isolation within the Telecommunications Infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience in network engineering and unified communications.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting, VoIP, and security protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q level security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Experience with data and voice networking and various models of Cisco VoIP phones.
  • Experience supporting a U.S. Government customer.
  • CCNA, CCNP, USCIS, CCIE certifications preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Experience deploying to cloud environments.
