About the position

The Vacation Sales Coordinator position at Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) is an in-person role located in New York City, designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable vacation experiences for guests. This position offers a base wage of $16 per hour, with the potential for production pay, leading to an annual pay range between $28,527 and $107,856. Additionally, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000, with $1,000 paid after the successful completion of 45 days of employment and another $1,000 after six months, contingent upon having at least one year of experience in the timeshare industry. As a Coordinator Marketing Linkage, you will play a crucial role in engaging with hotel guests, providing elevated customer service, and scheduling sales presentations. Your primary goal will be to ensure that guests who attend these presentations meet eligibility requirements and are genuinely interested in learning more about Marriott Vacation Club products and services. You will utilize persuasive techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty to Marriott, contributing to the overall success of the sales team. The role requires a high level of professionalism and the ability to anticipate and address guest needs effectively. You will be expected to interact with colleagues and guests promptly, contribute to team goals, and adhere to company policies and safety procedures. The position may also involve physical demands such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods, as well as the potential operation of company vehicles, including golf carts, in accordance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging with hotel guests at desk locations and providing elevated customer service.
  • Scheduling sales presentations and managing customer expectations.
  • Providing the highest level of service to exceed budgeted sales presentations and volume production goals.
  • Ensuring that all guests who attend a sales presentation meet eligibility requirements and are open to learning more about Marriott Vacation Club products and services.
  • Using persuasive techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott.
  • Welcoming and greeting guests; anticipating and addressing their needs.
  • Interacting with colleagues and guests professionally and promptly.
  • Contributing to team goals.
  • Always following company policies and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Sales or customer service experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Concierge and/or sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the timeshare industry for at least one year.
  • Background in hospitality or customer service roles.
