About the position

The Validation Engineer will be responsible for configuring and maintaining test hardware and infrastructure across multiple test systems. This role involves executing both manual and automated test cases to validate various systems, including ASIC hardware, drivers, software tools, firmware, BIOS, operating systems, and applications. The engineer must ensure that systems are operational, up-to-date, and ready for testing, while also working under pressure to meet deadlines in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain test hardware and infrastructure across multiple test systems.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases to validate systems including ASIC hardware, drivers, software tools, firmware, BIOS, operating systems, and applications.
  • Keep systems running, up to date, and maintain hardware and validation infrastructure test-ready.
  • Interpret new technologies from specifications and execute test procedure content.
  • Review test plans and procedures from other engineers and provide feedback to improve coverage.
  • Interpret and report test data in meaningful formats including tables and graphs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware issues.
  • Work in a cross-functional, multicultural team environment.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of PC Validation experience is preferred.
  • Strong problem solving (regression) skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • System level knowledge of subsystems: Memory, PC Buses (PCIe, USB, SATA, Ethernet, Processor, Chipset).
  • Experience with PC hardware setup and configuration: install and configure processors, hard drives, network cards, memory, etc.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions.
  • Clear communication in written English (email, submit issues, and document test results).
  • Good organizational skills: plan, prioritize, and manage assigned workload; efficiently execute multiple projects at the same time.
  • Quick learner: able to pick up and learn new concepts, applications, and operating systems in a short period of time.
  • Ability to test both Windows and Linux OS environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scripting ability such as bash/Python/Ruby is a plus.
  • Demonstrated desire to learn and grow within the role.
