About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking an Underwriter in Home Lending, responsible for reviewing, analyzing, approving, and underwriting individual consumer requests and products. The role involves ensuring compliance with company and industry guidelines while providing excellent customer service and support.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, approve, and underwrite routine individual consumer requests and products.
• Review credit applications, credit bureau information, collateral valuation, tax returns, financial statements, or other supporting documentation.
• Assist with the calculations and preparation of reports for review.
• Respond to customer inquiries and credit decisions.
• Ensure credit files are current, complete, and compliant with company standards.
• Contact customers and partners to gather information for decision-making.
• Present recommendations for resolving situations and exercise independent judgment.
• Provide information to team, managers, and customers related to inquiries.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Valuations, Lending, Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 2+ years of collateral underwriting experience.
• 2+ years in condo or co-op underwriting experience.
