About the position

The Valve and Specialty Application Engineering Co-op position at Control Southern, Inc. is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. This role involves interfacing with customers to provide engineered solutions, technical support, and managing the sales cycle from pre-sales engagement to order processing. The co-op will gain hands-on experience in application engineering and account management while contributing to the company's mission of enhancing manufacturing efficiency through automation and valve solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with customers via phone and email to provide engineered solutions, technical support, and order management.
  • Engineer complete solutions for customer process control needs.
  • Work with the Application Engineering team to learn the technical aspects of the job as well as the principles of account management.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle including pre-sales engagement and prospecting, engineering, quotation development, order processing and administration, product assembly and shipment, invoicing, and payment.
  • Document information related to customer requests.
  • Manage project documentation and technical submittals.
  • Develop a proficient understanding of our business system, including the ability to investigate problems and suggest creative solutions.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in an accredited university and actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of word processor and spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel and Word).
  • Working knowledge of database programs (i.e. IFS, Salesforce, Outlook) preferable.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (oral & written) skills required.
  • Must be very customer focused.
