The Valves Commercial Application Engineer at Baker Hughes is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to support the sales and application of control valves. The role requires a deep understanding of the Masoneilan control valves product line and the ability to engage with a diverse range of clients, including Engineering Procurement & Construction firms, End Users, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and Packagers. In this role, the engineer will develop commercial and technical proposals, negotiating with customers and Sales Managers to drive orders and enhance shareholder value. The engineer will also provide technical expertise, developing solutions related to control valve configuration, performance estimation, and economic analysis. This position involves working on cross-functional projects to create reliable solutions for customers, ensuring that all technical and commercial risks are identified and mitigated during the proposal process. The engineer will play a crucial role in coordinating across multiple functions within the valves organization to support the deal review process, ensuring that all proposals are safe and profitable. Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and bids for control valves.
  • Support contract negotiation and manage compliance with contract technical/commercial commitments.
  • Develop commercial and technical proposals, negotiating with customers and Sales Managers.
  • Provide technical expertise and develop solutions related to control valve configuration and performance estimation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes and tools for the team.
  • Coordinate across multiple functions to support the deal review process.
  • Identify, mitigate, and approve technical and commercial risks in proposals.
  • Handle diverse clients including Engineering Procurement & Construction firms and Original Equipment Manufacturers.
  • Accurately transfer purchase orders and highlight critical project requirements to the orders execution team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 3+ years of related experience in application engineering or account management.
  • Experience with the application and administration of control valves.
  • Understanding of various control valve technologies and their applications.
