About the position

As the Assistant Store Manager at Vans, you will provide leadership and direction to the store team, executing the company's vision and values under the Store Manager's guidance. Your role is crucial in maximizing store profitability by achieving sales goals and ensuring that store standards in merchandising, operations, staffing, and community engagement are met. You will also create an inclusive environment focused on customer satisfaction and may assume responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize store sales and achieve store sales goals while monitoring sales progress against key targets.
  • Inspire and model a consumer-centric mindset through genuine interactions with customers.
  • Support the Store Manager in networking, attracting, recruiting, and interviewing high-caliber talent.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, training, and supervision to associates, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and set expectations on customer engagement and store policies.
  • Assist in managing expenses to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Cultivate a productive environment by ensuring the store team has the knowledge and skills to meet sales and customer engagement goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related professional/retail management experience.
  • Ability to meet business goals by driving results through store teams.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to coach and motivate a team to excel at sales and profit results.
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
