About the position

As the Assistant Store Manager at Vans, you will provide leadership and direction to the store team, executing the company's vision and values under the Store Manager's guidance. Your role will focus on maximizing store profitability by achieving sales goals, ensuring operational standards, and fostering community engagement. You will create an inclusive environment that prioritizes customer satisfaction and will take on the Store Manager's responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize store sales and achieve sales goals while monitoring progress against key targets.
  • Inspire and model a consumer-centric mindset through genuine customer interactions.
  • Support the Store Manager in networking, recruiting, and interviewing high-caliber talent.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, training, and supervision to associates, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate clearly and set expectations for customer engagement and store policies.
  • Assist in managing expenses to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Cultivate a productive environment by ensuring the team has the knowledge and skills to meet store goals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related professional/retail management experience.
  • Ability to meet business goals by driving results through store teams.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to coach and motivate a team to excel at sales and profit results.
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
