About the position

The Vantive Technical Accounting Manager will play a crucial role in interfacing with various Finance and non-Finance personnel globally, providing high visibility access to senior leadership within Vantive's global Finance organization. This position is integral to the Vantive Controllership function, focusing on strategic initiatives and events related to accounting considerations, GAAP compliance, and the implementation of new accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the review of accounting considerations associated with material definitive agreements.
  • Research accounting guidance for complex transactions and provide well-documented accounting conclusions.
  • Monitor GAAP developments and lead the implementation of new accounting and disclosure standards.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos for applicable accounting matters.
  • Take responsibility for the quarterly impairment process of definite and indefinite-lived assets and the annual goodwill process.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and implementation of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Act as a contact person to global accounting teams on accounting policy interpretation and complex transactions.
  • Review contracts and journal entries for accounting topics such as revenue recognition and leases.
  • Complete ad hoc projects related to reporting, disclosures, consolidations, and accounting systems.
  • Maintain compliance with controls and identify process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably with public accounting experience at a national firm.
  • Key experiences in financial reporting, leases, debt, revenue recognition, pension, and derivatives.
  • Strong technical, research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Close attention to detail, quality, and control.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with JD Edwards and/or Oracle FCCS and/or SmartView is a plus.
