About the position
The Springfield High School is announcing a vacancy for the position of Varsity Track Assistant Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. This role is essential in supporting the head coach in the development and training of student-athletes in track and field. The assistant coach will be responsible for fostering a positive and competitive environment while ensuring the athletes are well-prepared for their events.
Requirements
- State of Ohio Teaching license/certificate (preferred-not required)
- Demonstrated coaching capabilities and experience
- Knowledge of track with emphasis on fundamentals
- Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques
- Ability to diagnose player strengths/deficiencies and prescribe corrective action
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate ideas and directives effectively (orally and in writing)
- Ability to relate with and inspire young athletes
- Ability to work effectively with parents, educators, and other coaches
- Willingness to invest the necessary time during the season
- Ability to make minor repairs on equipment
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
