About the position

As a CBRE Property Tax Director, you will be responsible for managing the property tax services required for clients in their office location or specialty field. This role is integral to the Valuation function, where you will inspect and determine the values of land, property, and businesses. Your primary focus will be to ensure that all property tax appeals are prosecuted in a timely and efficient manner, completed accurately, and in compliance with state laws. You will implement critical initiatives to meet the objectives of the office, overseeing profit and loss as well as budgeting for your office or specialty area. In this position, you will develop and implement practice policies and procedures aimed at increasing operational efficiencies. You will coordinate and lead a local office or specialty, which may involve managing a team of 2-10 individuals. Your role will include providing formal supervision to employees within a single functional or operational area, identifying training needs, tracking performance, mentoring, and motivating team members. It is essential to model behaviors that align with the company's values, ensuring a positive and productive work environment. To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills, as well as a deep understanding of property tax advocacy. You will be expected to possess excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, strong organizational and analytical abilities, and the capacity to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Additionally, you will need to be adept at presenting information, responding to issues, and conducting financial/business analysis, including the preparation of reports. Your ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents will be crucial, as will your advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of property tax advocacy required.
  • Supervising / leadership experience preferred.
  • Certificates and/or Licenses as required by state licensing body.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to present information and respond to issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability to calculate complex figures and forecast budgets.
  • Conduct financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
