About The Position

Foundation Health Partners is actively recruiting a physician assistant to join our vascular surgery team at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center, located within Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to join a lively, expanding vascular surgery practice at the Porter Heart & Vascular Center (PHVC). This position will work alongside our vascular surgeon, Dr. Ombrellaro, and an experienced APP. The role includes first-assisting in the OR and in the cath lab, managing hospitalized patients, assisting in-office procedures, and seeing patients in clinic. Our patient population includes the full spectrum of vascular conditions including peripheral artery disease (PAD), carotid stenosis, aneurysms, arterial occlusions, PE and DVT, and venous disease. Experience in Vascular surgery or a surgical specialty is preferred but not required. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow under the mentorship of Dr. Ombrellaro, who is a fantastic teacher and leader in vascular care. PHVC is part of the state's largest multidisciplinary health system and benefits from a strong referral network. The vascular service uses our cath lab and a hybrid OR, and we perform a wide variety of complex open and endovascular procedures for treatment.

Requirements

  • Must be approved to practice by the State Joint Board on the Regulation of Physician's Assistants
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Exhibits an exemplary professional demeanor and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications and database management
  • Must have sufficient experience, confidence, and judgment to function with little outside direction
  • Ability to maintain CME currency as required to maintain NCCPA certification
  • Requires personal DEA license

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in clinical setting including supervision is preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, ATLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certifications desirable
