About the position
The VDC Designer position at ACTalent, Inc. is a remote role focused on utilizing advanced BIM technologies to create and modify electrical designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for linking Revit files, managing schedules, and ensuring accurate layouts of electrical systems. This role requires collaboration with various teams to deliver precise project designs and involves a strong understanding of electrical systems and relevant software tools.
Responsibilities
- Link Revit files
- Create and modify schedules for drawings
- Setup view filters and templates
- Accurately layout conduit racks with proper parameters, spacing, sizing, and j-box locations
- Model electrical equipment and light fixtures per project specifications with correct parameters
- Clash model content for electrical equipment and light fixtures per project specifications
- Review and markup drawings done by others and ensure corrections are fixed
- Place and code APL points and export the point file from the project
Requirements
- Proficiency in BIM, Revit MEP, Navisworks, Bluebeam, BIM 360, and electrical systems
- Advanced understanding of NEC, BICSI codes
- 5-7 years of field and/or technical experience combined, or 3-4 years of software experience
- Experience in 2D and 3D modeling
- BS in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or BIM Technology
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Smartsheet, and Excel
- Electrical and/or specialty systems field experience
- Job-related experience in 2D and 3D modeling
