About the position

The Vehicle Electrical Programming Control Systems Engineer III is responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of control systems for refuse collection vehicles. This role involves creating functional requirements, applying engineering principles, and developing simulations and prototypes to evaluate designs. The engineer will monitor product quality, investigate failures, and recommend improvements to ensure efficiency and safety in refuse collection operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems for refuse collection vehicles.
  • Create functional requirements and apply standard engineering principles.
  • Develop simulations and prototypes to evaluate designs.
  • Test components and integrate them into final products.
  • Monitor product quality and control process efficiency.
  • Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
  • Investigate root causes of failures and recommend improvements.
  • Provide start-up assistance for control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in controls and assembly operations.
  • Understanding and programming of PLCs or other mobile controllers.
  • Ability to read and create wiring schematics.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DC Drives and Motors.
  • Familiarity with HMI SCADA programming and configuration.
