About the position
This temporary position is located in Salisbury, NC - Rowan County. The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional well-being of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA Foods to eligible recipients agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA. This position is assigned to the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services and is subject to a criminal background check, driver's license check, reference check, and job ready services fit test. Pre-employment mandatory drug testing is required.
Responsibilities
- Distribute USDA Foods to eligible recipient agencies.
- Administer food programs for USDA.
- Ensure compliance with food distribution regulations.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid North Carolina Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
- Prior use/infrequent use of manual and/or electric pallet jack.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must have good customer service skills and experience.
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to use a tablet or computer.
- Knowledge of refrigerated trailers (can get on the job training).
