About the position

The Vehicle Integration Presentation Specialist at Volkswagen Group of America plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating vehicle projects within the Engineering Group (EG). This position is responsible for ensuring that project statuses are transparent and effectively communicated to various committees. The specialist will coordinate the validation of experimental vehicles, generate job splits in collaboration with development partners, and manage project budgets. The role requires making informed decisions on requests, determining the need for escalation, and prioritizing tasks as required by the EG section. Additionally, the specialist will synchronize information from the EG section with committees and represent the vehicle project in various forums, including drives and committee meetings. The specialist will be responsible for the overall vehicle project, both nationally and internationally, within Volkswagen. This includes making statements regarding vehicle status, providing relevant project information to EG participants, and harmonizing project statuses. The role also involves sharing critical information with the Type tutor and representing the Type tutor when necessary. The position demands strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various software applications. The ideal candidate will have a background in the automotive industry, with a focus on project management and team leadership. They should possess the ability to work in cross-functional teams and have a strong understanding of technical quality evaluation. Knowledge of the German language, both written and verbal, is advantageous, as is experience in the VW development process and project management. The role may require domestic and international travel for test drives and training, making flexibility a key component of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Control the section EG and make project status transparent for committees.
  • Coordinate the validation of EG experimental vehicles.
  • Generate job splits with development partners, addressing general and EG demands, testing issues, and complexity of analysis and approval.
  • Comply with and validate project budgets.
  • Make decisions on requests, determine the need to escalate, and prioritize tasks required by the EG section.
  • Synchronize information from the EG section with committees.
  • Represent the vehicle project in committees and during drives.
  • Provide statements concerning technique and project status.
  • Harmonize EG project status and share relevant information with Type tutor.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in the automotive industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Engineering (desired).
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, and written communication.
  • Proficiency in software applications (MS-Applications, ETKA, Elsa Win pro, etc.).
  • Ability to integrate people, processes, or systems effectively.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Resource management capabilities.
  • Self-starting and self-motivated with the ability to think broadly.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing teams.
  • Good time management and administrative skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cooperation with VW development departments.
  • Familiarity with the VW development process (PEP).
