About the position

The Vehicle Integration Validation Project Engineer at PACCAR Inc. is a lead role within the Validation team, focusing on developing innovative analysis tools for evaluating testing data. This position involves conducting validation testing and collaborating with a cross-divisional team to ensure the performance of 'Best in Class' vehicle functions for North America.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead powertrain controls validation test engineer and subject matter expert conducting testing, providing insights, test plan development, and tracking of all aspects of assigned testing.
  • Lead the effort to develop test strategies, procedures, and processes for vehicle testing.
  • Analyze project requests, discuss project requirements with requestors, and formulate preliminary project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Work directly with internal and external customers regarding test requests, planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Create, coordinate, manage, and execute required program budgets.
  • Develop, track, and report program-related metrics.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relations with truck divisions.
  • Specify instrumentation equipment, vehicles, loading configurations, software versions, and data collection strategies for assigned testing.
  • Participate in the setup of tests, data collection, and analysis.
  • Write reports as appropriate, incorporating results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of familiarity with PACCAR products and service tools.
  • Present results of testing or investigative projects to divisions or management personnel.

Requirements

  • 5 years of truck/automotive related work experience desired.
  • Experience with vehicle software highly desired.
  • Experience with Signal processing (Video) highly desired.
  • Ability to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands.
  • Test set and Requirements management experience desired.
  • Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively.
  • Self-directed, excellent analysis and technical judgment required.
  • Control System hardware and software testing desired.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline required.
  • MS preferred.
