About the position
The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair on various vehicle systems, including internal combustion engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical systems. This role requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work with different types of automotive equipment. The technician will also maintain service records and may be required to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines, derricks, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks.
- Service or replace tires, batteries, lubricate chassis, brakes, oil, drive belts, hoses, etc.
- Maintain automotive equipment service records.
- Overhaul transmissions, differentials, and hydraulic systems.
- Overhaul starters, generators, and alternators.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid CDL license or attain one if required.
- Must have a valid License Smog Check Mechanic's Certificate at the time of appointment.
- Ability to perceive differences in colors and distinguish audible tones/levels.
- Results from standard tests for the position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company.
