About the position

The Model-Based Systems Engineer role at Blue Origin is integral to the Lunar Permanence business unit, focusing on the development of the Blue Moon lander product lines. This position involves analyzing system architecture, defining requirements, and supporting the design, integration, verification, and validation of spaceflight systems. The role is pivotal in ensuring safe and repeatable spaceflight, contributing to Blue Origin's mission of enabling millions of people to live and work in space for the benefit of Earth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for various spaceflight systems.
  • Develop system architecture models using MBSE tools.
  • Apply a variety of technical principles and tools in Systems Engineering such as CONOPs development, requirements analysis, interface definition, functional decomposition, verification, validation, and integration.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area.
  • A breadth of understanding of several systems engineering methods such as concept development, requirement definition, design solution definition, implementation, integration, verification and validation, qualification, commissioning, or operations.
  • Hands-on proficiency in modeling systems using SysML.
  • Experience architecting complex systems using modeling tools.
  • Experience with Cameo (MagicDraw) or a similar tool.
