The Vendor Account Setup Assistant at D.R. Horton will perform clerical functions related to vendor account setup and maintenance under the supervision of the Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller. This role is essential for ensuring compliance with IRS reporting guidelines and maintaining data integrity while processing vendor accounts for payment.

  • Prepare vendor accounts for payment
  • Identify vendor by type and scope of work
  • Follow system controls including IRS reporting guidelines, insurance compliance, and vendor eligibility
  • Review source information for all required documents
  • Prevent duplication and adhere to standardized naming conventions
  • Ensure real-time ongoing data integrity
  • Process high volumes of information
  • Assist corporate accounting management with related special projects as directed
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Ability to work overtime
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
  • Basic accounting knowledge required
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments
  • Work well under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills and self-starter
  • Sound logic and reasoning skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience with AS400, JD Edwards, EMC Documentum (ECM), and/or Lansa preferred
