About the position

The Vendor Data Engineer position at BCforward involves designing and implementing data architectures and automated data flows for data extraction, transformation, and loading. This role requires strong technical skills in data processing and visualization, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various teams. The position is contract-based and offers the flexibility of remote work, although candidates must be located in either the PST or EST time zones.

Responsibilities

• Implements complete data architectures, including appropriate data schemas for consuming data from varied sources.
• Designs and implements automated data flows for extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Optimizes data aggregations while ensuring compliance with data privacy policies.
• Authors robust technical documentation, data schema, and real-time data telemetry specifications.
• Builds and maintains moderately complex data visualizations.
• Communicates and coordinates with external and internal teams.
• May be responsible for developing requirements and drafting high-level design documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field.
• 2+ years of experience with the right set of tools or 3-4 years in data experience.
• 1-2 years of experience with ADLS/Scope scripts.
• 1-2 years of SQL experience in data processing.
• 1-2 years of experience in data modeling.
• 3-5 years of work-related experience in data engineering, analysis, and business intelligence.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with building moderately complex data visualizations on real data.
• Experience with Azure Cloud and data flow automation is a plus.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
