About the position

The Vendor Trade Compliance Specialist at TJX Companies is responsible for developing, implementing, and training vendors on compliance with TJX policies and government agency requirements related to international buying. This role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure legal and ethical trading responsibilities are met, while also supporting the growth of the individual's career within a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess internal and external processes and procedures, communicating findings to business counterparts.
  • Communicate, partner, coach, and challenge vendors to support global compliance goals.
  • Develop and maintain a central database for legally required documents and ethical compliance trading policies.
  • Build strong working partnerships with Buyers and Vendors to ensure product compliance standards are met.
  • Communicate compliance strategies to buyers and strategize processes to achieve product compliance and labeling.
  • Represent TJX to external partners to support compliance strategies.
  • Monitor and measure vendor compliance, assisting buying teams in developing vendor understanding and solutions for non-compliance.
  • Travel to local vendors as needed for relationship building and training opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of Merchandise Operations or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong support skills for responding to merchant, vendor, and carrier inquiries.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of merchandise flow and ability to prioritize vendor and merchandising requests.
  • Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement updates.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple work streams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365/Office suite, including Excel.
