About the position

BEST Crowd Management is seeking an Event Manager to support operations at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in sports management or venue operations who are looking to advance their careers in the industry. As an exempt-level professional, the Event Manager will oversee event operations, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and smooth execution of events. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and managing event day operations. The Event Manager will report directly to the Account Manager and will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency. In this role, the Event Manager will be responsible for supervising Event Supervisors and ensuring that all staff are well-trained and motivated. This includes evaluating performance, providing coaching, and making recommendations for assignments as needed. The Event Manager will also maintain positive relationships with clients and security personnel through regular communication and support. Identifying and addressing issues that arise during events is a key responsibility, as is responding to emergencies and ensuring effective communication with the Account Manager and other stakeholders. The Event Manager will coordinate all aspects of event operations, including technical and managerial tasks, and will assign work to Event Supervisors and staff. On-the-job training will be a significant part of the role, with a focus on developing and improving standard operating procedures. The Event Manager will ensure that all procedures and training materials are up-to-date and that the work environment is organized and safe. This position may also involve additional duties as required, making flexibility and adaptability essential traits for success.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational responsibilities as assigned, including recruiting, hiring, security licensing, training, scheduling, event day operations, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Serve as the direct supervisory contact for Event Supervisors regarding performance, operations, and department needs.
  • Supervise, motivate, coach, and train Event Supervisors and staff.
  • Evaluate the work performance of direct reports and make recommendations regarding assignments as required.
  • Maintain positive client/security relationships through frequent team and client contact and support.
  • Identify issues occurring at events and forward them to the Account Manager and/or Client as appropriate.
  • Write reports of incidents or assist with investigations as directed.
  • Respond to client or site emergencies, ensuring appropriate communication with the account manager and/or client.
  • Coordinate all aspects of executing event operations at the assigned location, including responding to client requests.
  • Assign work tasks to Event Supervisors, Event Staff, and Event Security to direct work throughout the event.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and develop standard operating procedures for staff.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures and training information are properly maintained and updated.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional-level experience in event management, security, event staffing, law enforcement, or military.
  • At least one year of previous experience in customer service or security.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to make articulate decisions and use good judgment in various situations.
  • Strong adaptability to respond effectively to changes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in security or law enforcement is a plus.
  • Background in military service is advantageous.
