About the position

The Venue Operations Manager at the East-West Center is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations and logistical coordination for conferences and events at the Imin International Conference Center. This role involves collaborating with leadership, managing venue policies, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing exceptional service to clients. The manager will also seek new business opportunities to enhance revenue and sustainability for venue operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of facility operations and logistical coordination for conferences and events.
• Collaborate with leadership in planning and infrastructure for conference operational space.
• Assist in the review and development of venue policies and procedures.
• Maintain a catalog of policies and procedural information for accessibility.
• Coordinate service deliveries and pre-event obligations for each event plan.
• Supervise staging of meeting space and food service to meet client expectations.
• Identify and resolve problems effectively and in a timely manner with clients and event organizers.
• Negotiate contracts and rental agreements with clients and service vendors.
• Ensure compliance with safety and risk management programs within the venue.
• Assist Events team with logistics and execution of external events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in venue management or large-scale event planning.
• At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and carry out assignments independently.
• High level of accuracy in working with numbers and detailed matters.
• Ability to work cooperatively with diverse backgrounds.
