We will have various positions within our Finance and Accounting functional areas, including but not limited to: - **Accounting**: responsible for accounts payable, payroll, equity, reporting, general ledger, and project accounting. - **Finance**: works collaboratively with Function and Program Finance to prepare projected consolidated financial statements, companywide financial planning and analysis, presentation, and decision support materials. - **Internal Audit**: assists in assessing the reliability of financial reporting, compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, and the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations. - **Purchasing**: Completes the entire Procure-to-Pay cycle by working closely with the Receiving and Accounts Payable departments to resolve delivery and invoicing issues, including the disposition of returned material to suppliers. - **Strategic Sourcing**: responsible for processing requisitions and purchase orders for the Company. They also negotiate contracts and ensure that Vertex is earning discounts where possible. - **Tax, Treasury, and Insurance**: responsible for filing Vertex's corporate tax returns and engaging in tax and other planning activities. This group also performs cash planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in various finance and accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll, and project accounting.
  • Collaborate with Function and Program Finance to prepare consolidated financial statements and financial planning materials.
  • Support internal audit processes to ensure compliance with financial reporting and company policies.
  • Engage in the Procure-to-Pay cycle, resolving delivery and invoicing issues with suppliers.
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders, negotiating contracts to secure discounts for the company.
  • Participate in tax planning and filing corporate tax returns.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2025.
  • Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January - June 2025.
