About the position

The Veterinary Customer Services Specialist at The Ohio State University plays a crucial role in providing exceptional front-line client services within the Veterinary Medical Center. This position involves supporting clients, customers, clinicians, and care-giving colleagues by managing various customer service tasks, including handling complex situations and ensuring accurate information is recorded in the hospital's computer system.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to routine, complex, and medical emergency situations in a professional manner.
  • Answer and direct internal and external calls appropriately.
  • Create accurate day-to-day admitting information through the hospital computer system.
  • Resolve routine problems and complex situations using appropriate medical terminology and established customer service principles.
  • Maintain safe and accurate money handling practices and abide by all university privacy standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a customer service, healthcare, or veterinary care environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems or operating computers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in customer services, insurance verification, and/or veterinary practice customer services.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with consumers, visitors, clinicians, technicians, and all other medical center faculty and staff.
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting information.

Benefits

  • Hiring range of $17.00 - $21.68 per hour.
