About the position

The Veterans Benefits Coordinator at Chicago State University plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating financial aid for veterans and their dependents, particularly focusing on ROTC scholarships and various veterans' benefits. This position works closely with the Director of Financial Aid to ensure that internal policies regarding veterans' benefits are regularly reviewed and updated to comply with federal and state mandates. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in developing and implementing campus programming for veterans and their dependents, attend community events to promote the available veterans' services at Chicago State University, and participate in required training and conferences, including quarterly meetings held by Veterans Affairs and the annual AVECO Conference. The role also involves assisting in the staffing and operation of the Veterans Resource Center and performing other duties as assigned.
