About the position

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and driving profitable growth of Airgas business within a designated sales territory. This role involves meeting and exceeding sales growth and profitability objectives, developing and executing sales and marketing plans, and acting as a technical resource for customers. The Account Manager will also be tasked with acquiring new accounts, maintaining communication with internal departments, and analyzing market data to strategize sales efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow Airgas business within an assigned sales territory.
  • Meet and exceed corporate and regional sales growth and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and execute regional sales and marketing plans.
  • Pursue and acquire new and competitive accounts, focusing on product supply agreements.
  • Review regional sales goals and monitor effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.
  • Act as a technical resource for customers and regional retail sales associates.
  • Establish and maintain communication with internal departments regarding customer successes and failures.
  • Collaborate with local Branch managers to promote sales and customer management.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to engage with customers.
  • Identify and qualify prospective customers within the territory.
  • Research and analyze market data to determine new customers and sales volume potential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related outside sales experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply, and hardware is desired.
  • Proven change management skills, including building sponsorship and stakeholder management.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with required insurance coverage.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume setting.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the industrial gas sector.
  • Familiarity with SAP software.
