About the position

The Financial Analyst I position at Airgas is designed to support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department by managing financial reporting and analysis. This role involves creating and distributing daily sales information, internal financial reporting, and providing insights related to financial metrics and analytics for the North Division. The position offers opportunities for career growth and operates in a hybrid work environment, combining in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Report and analyze financial and operating metrics, such as sales, gross margin, operating expenses, working capital, asset utilization, capital expenditures, etc.
  • Create and distribute the monthly financial metrics and reporting packets.
  • Assist with the Division's efforts to utilize SAP's Business Warehouse and BPC reporting.
  • Prepare periodic reports for senior management.
  • Continue personal development and education to remain informed of current industry developments and technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
  • Financial reporting/financial analysis experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Prior public accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with SAP.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage computer systems and related tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, both independently and collectively.
  • Ability to use time effectively and efficiently; can attend to a broader range of activities; handles multiple demands and competing priorities effectively.
  • Ability to promote collaboration, coordination, and teamwork across organizational boundaries.
  • Displays a strong personal commitment to successfully managing and completing all aspects of projects.
