About the position

The Inside Sales Representative (Floating) at Airgas is responsible for acting as a sales associate in a retail environment, focusing on selling industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as welding supplies and related equipment to businesses and industrial customers. This role involves soliciting sales, managing customer inquiries, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining showroom displays and coordinating deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Sell industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies, and related equipment to customers.
• Solicit sales with existing and potential customers and handle all associated paperwork.
• Answer customer questions and advise on equipment and materials needed.
• Demonstrate the use of equipment and arrange for delivery of products.
• Assist customers with merchandise and loading/unloading cylinders.
• Establish and maintain good customer relations through effective communication.
• Monitor customer needs and maintain proper inventory levels to minimize emergency deliveries.
• Check accounts receivable status and communicate with customers regarding payments.
• Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding and pricing.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance and ensure safety rules are observed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Customer service or sales experience.
• Industry and related product knowledge, especially handling compressed gases preferred.
• Basic computer experience or knowledge in computer order entry systems; SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills; Spanish speaking is a plus.
