About the position

The Plant Manager at Airgas in Canton, Ohio, is responsible for overseeing the operations of a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU). This role involves managing manufacturing processes, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion. The Plant Manager will lead personnel development, manage costs, and implement maintenance strategies to ensure high-quality product output and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage all manufacturing, safety, training, personnel, maintenance, and other activities to ensure high quality of product and customer satisfaction.
• Operate and maintain the facility safely and reliably by complying with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and lead personnel, managing costs effectively and developing personal skills and competencies.
• Provide all regulatory training and maintain documentation.
• Adhere to the Management of Change procedure and make plant and process decisions.
• Perform process troubleshooting and establish clear delegation of authority to trained subordinates.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance.
• Implement individual development plans annually and provide training and coaching to improve performance.
• Work towards achieving 'Zero Accidents' by taking a leadership role in safety.
• Monitor and optimize operating costs within the authorized budget.
• Participate in the Capital Planning Process and the Yearly Expense Budgeting Process.
• Continuously improve efficiency and availability indicators.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 4 to 10+ years of process industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work on-call nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice-to-haves

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree.
• Air Separation plant experience.
